Hamas means violence חמס

Hamas:  It is a familiar term we have heard in the daily news.  A group dedicated to the destruction of Israel.  I was most thrilled when I found this article by Rabbi Jon-Jay Tilsen below.  He stated Hamas is Hebrew word for violence.  Let’s look at a brief lexicon result for this word.

Let’s look at just a few examples of use in Old and New Testament.  The first mention is in Genesis 6:11-13, NKJV

Israel: Hamas broke the truce

Israel’s air assault on Gaza is “the first in several stages” of operations aimed at ending militant rocket fire, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said.

As bombing continued for a fourth day, another top official said Israel was ready for “long weeks of action”.

Palestinian officials say more than 360 people have been killed since Saturday. Four Israelis have died in rocket fire.

As EU officials met to discuss the crisis, some reports from Israel said it was considering a temporary truce.

Mr Olmert was set to discuss the idea of a 48-hour suspension, suggested by France, with his officials later in the day, the French news agency AFP said.

But Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer warned a truce would allow militant group Hamas – which controls Gaza – “to regain strength… and prepare an even stronger attack against Israel”.

Israel and militant group Hamas have agreed to end months of bitter clashes with a six-month truce starting on Thursday, Palestinian officials say.

A Hamas official said he was confident all militant groups in Gaza would abide by the agreement, brokered by Egypt.

Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak said it was too early to say a truce was in place but that Israel would “give it a chance”.

Earlier at least six Palestinians died in Israeli strikes in southern Gaza.

Israel said it had targeted “terror operatives”.

Hamas said a missile struck a car carrying five members of the Army of Islam militant group near Khan Younis. A sixth man died in a separate strike nearby.

Note:  Hamas’s mandate is to free Jerusalem and all of Palestine from Israel.  Jerusalem appears 814 times in the bible.  Blue Letter Bible – Search Results for KJV Here in the Koran it appears 0.. Holy Qur’an That’s zip, nada, zilch, not there at all.  It appears for all this fervor over Islam’s third holiest site seems to be missing from the Koran.  An honest approach seems to indicate that the hatred for Israel is born out of just hatred.

I heard a report that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was beheaded in Iraq. Or maybe it was that he would be headed for Iraq. It could go either way, given the level of violence. We know that Secretary Rumsfeld has been laden with appeals for help. There is a lot of Babel. It is a punishing situation.

And Elokim said to Noah: “I have decided to put an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with hamas because of them: I am about to destroy them with the earth.”

For the earth is filled with hamas….

We recognize the Arabic Acronym حماس HAMAS (for Haraqat al-Muqawima al-Islamiya) as the name of that Palestinian social-service agency which provides vocational training for suicide bombers. It is only coincidence — if you believe in coincidence — that it sounds like, and indeed is spelled the same way as, the Hebrew word חמס hamas.

(It is also only coincidence that the word בוש bush in Hebrew means “shame”; that קרי kerry is an unpleasant symptom of leprosy; and that רשע russia means “wicked one.” But it is not a coincidence that ברךּ barack means “blessed — ברוּך barukh,” because it is a Swahili name, which shares Semitic roots with Hebrew.)

Jerusalem a cup of trembling

The Lord Yahweh when He has made Jerusalem a cup of trembling  will in THAT DAY.

And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn. vs.9-10.BLB (KJV) Zec 12

When you consider the meaning of Hamas (violence, wrong, cruelty, injustice) and that terrorist nations will come against Israel and she will be given into the enemies hand and two thirds will be murdered in unrighteousness.  It is a solemn indeed what is coming on the world and those who have not yet put their faith in Yeshua (Jesus).

And it shall come to pass, [that] in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off [and] die; but the third shall be left therein.  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD [is] my God.BLB (KJV) Zec 13 vs. 8-9

Jesus told us just before His return that ” Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. The symbol for Christians is the cross.  The symbol for Jews is the Star of David, and the symbol of Islam is the Crescent moon.

Like a flood

Over and over again in the bible the ancient prophets described a time of Jacob’s trouble when the great tribulation (trouble) is described as an over flowing scourge.  Never will their be a time like this again.  Consider how history has recorded many wars in around Jerusalem great and terrible as they have been.  During the Holocaust 1 in 3 precious Jews where murdered by the Nazi war machine as Hitler had written he would.  Today we have many nations that surround Israel boasting to “drive Israel into the sea”.  Iran and Syria sponsor state terrorism.  The Prophet Zechariah in chapter 12 describes a time of 2 of 3 in Israel perish in what is called “The Great Tribulation”.  Also in Revelation during the seal and trumpet judgements Most of the world population will perish also as violence again fills the earth.

The world will be judged for their unwillingness and outright contempt for Israel and unjust resolutions passed against her.  Ezekiel describes that God Himself says it is not for Israel’s sake, but for His Holy Names sake.

God will in His final work, His strange work, will accomplish the list given by Gabriel to Daniel as the 70 weeks to accomplish the list here.  This list is not done, This will be done over the last week.  69 of these weeks have been accomplished.  Messiah has been cut off and we are in the Church age.  God will quickly bring this list to pass in the final week. 7 years.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.BLB (KJV) Dan 9 vs. 24

King David prophesied of time of Jacob’s trouble when Israel will be surrounded by her enemies during the great tribulation during Daniel’s 70th week when the house of David will accept their Messiah.BLB (KJV) 2Sa 22

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: [he is] my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me fromviolence. vs.3…(David describes it like the flood) When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; vs.5

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.BLB (KJV) Dan 9

And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.  And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.BLB (KJV) Rev 12

Their is a reference in Psalm 83 that is obviously an end time prophecy and it makes reference to Zebah and Zalmunna where the enemies have camped against Israel in the days of the Judges.  It is my conjecture that Gideon here is a foreshadow of when Jesus comes back as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, not the meek lamb for this mission.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.  They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from [being] a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.  For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:  The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;BLB (KJV) Psa 83 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

I ask if Jerusalem appears 814 times in the bible and 0 times in the Koran.  It is nothing more than a lie.  Satan is the father of lies.  He committed the first murder.  Jesus said he was a murderer from the beginning.  So God will arise and judge the nations.

So Zebah and Zalmunna said, “Rise yourself, and kill us; for as a man [is, so is] his strength.” So Gideon arose and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, and took the crescent ornaments that [were] on their camels’ necks. BLB: NJKV

A final note on Hamas as we witness the awakening of the final beast nation that shall come against Israel.  Read and know that this speaks of the final battle of Armageddon no mistake.  On a sidebar I have read that a Turkish Grandsheikh looking for the return of the Mahdi teaches “It is impossible for believers (Muslims) to be killed during Armageddon or for people with good actions and good intentions to be killed. That is impossible”. Unbelievable how the mind of some that want to serve God are being trained to go head long to the final judgement.The Coming of al-Mahdi Read what the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has said what will happen.

For the Christian this is both sad and exciting to know that God will bring all that He said He would both the best and worst of times are coming to the world.  Keep your eye on Jerusalem.  Put your trust in Jesus today if you haven’t.  For He will acquit your sins though they be as scarlet and give you a new heart if you truly repent and believe. Take the Test

It was Gods plan from the beginning.  From the foundation of the world Christ Jesus would die for the sins of the whole world.  Jew, Arab or whoever will believe on the Son of God.

This is an ancient hatred being promoted by an ideology that loves death.  View the above and consider what the Lord said in Proverbs in light of His Holy word.

Proverbs 8:35-36  ”For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.  But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

The slogan of Hamas is “God is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Qur’an its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of God is the loftiest of its wishes.” Hamas states that its objective is to support the oppressed and wronged and “to bring about justice and defeat injustice, in word and deed.” Hamas believes that “the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf (trust) consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day,” and as such, the land cannot be negotiated away by any political leader. Hamas rejects “so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences” as “in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement”, stating “there is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad“
