By combining signs and wonders with a false Christology that denies the deity of Christ, Johnson has placed his followers in the center of end time deception. Now rather than the one “Anointed One” (Jesus Christ who is unique), there are many “anointed ones” who supposedly can do greater miracles than Jesus. This situation is described in the Bible: “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour” (1 John 2:18). “Antichrists” as understood from the Greek, are substitute “anointed ones.” In the Bible, all Christians are equally “anointed” by God, and only Jesus specially anointed, i.e., the Messiah.[10] An elite group of specially anointed ones who comprise the “Elijah generation” as taught in Bill Johnson’s Latter Rain theology would qualify as antichrists. Dominionism shares some of the same ideologies as the emerging church, the primary similarity being the belief that a utopian “kingdom of God” will be set up on earth prior to the return of Jesus Christ, and in fact there won’t actually be a bodily physical return of Christ; but rather His presence will become more manifest within us the more the kingdom of God on earth is created. This is totally contrary to Scripture that tells us that Jesus Christ will return physically (where every eye shall see Him), and it will be to a world that has become completely chaotic and reprobate, not utopian and godly. The third-wave church often teaches and practices that reactions (or “manifestations”) are most often God-initiated and are not to be controlled. A more orthodox belief held by mainline Charismatics and Pentecostals is that spiritual actions like tongues, prophecies, even shouts-of-joy or cries-of-intercession are under the control of the person. If a prophetic tongue can be stopped in a service, and given later, likewise other spiritual actions, such as screaming out, can yield to control in a service where everything needs to be “decent and in order”.  (Note: Amos37 has seen this where experience rules the day and the word of God has little to do except for cherry picking self centered scriptures more often than not out of context.)  Scarry stuff  for those who are prone to seeking after a sign.  Good people are getting sucked into these circuses of deception.) Critical to this belief is the understanding that prophecy is something that you can grow in (learn) as opposed to an outright gift. While the point can be made that you can learn how to use the gift, it remains a gift nonetheless. And one which must be judged. At the Morningstar Church students reportedly sit at tables on the sides of the auditorium and will give you a prophecy (reading) if you ask. Sometimes they miss it, but that’s alright, they are learning. Contrast that with a statement from John Bevere, who in his seminal work on prophecy “Thus Saith the Lord” states that “There is no Junior Holy Spirit.” (continue reading…)

Here at Amos37 we have been following many topics and issues in the Church, apostasy, etc…  One thing that always comes up is the reckless abandonment of the authority of Gods word.  Always.  Today one of the most dangerous movements is Dominionism in all it’s forms from Conservatives to the Signs & Wonders crazy stuff. It in a nutshell presents an inverted and perverted view of the mission of the Church.  It is our hope to expose the error of this for those who are getting sucked into this “MAN CENTERED” doctrine of Dominionism. The Latter Rain movement of the late 40′s had given birth to numerous other sub-teachings. The Manifest Sons of God was divided into two major sects. The Walk, and the Body of Christ. The Walk came out of the Latter Rain Movement under the “apostleship” of John Robert Stevens, who like Paul Cain and others was a William Branham disciple. Dominionis is a general denial among dominionists of a deteriorating world at the end of the church dispensation, leading to the tribulation period and the revelation of the man of sin. They do not accept the fact of a great falling away in the end-time (2 Thess. 2:3) and the proliferation of evil and wickedness to unprecedented levels (Matt. 24:12; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; Rev. 22:11). Instead of this biblical scenario, they promote a view of a united and peaceful world under the control of the revived church of the end-time. Joyner and others in the modern prophetic movement have created a huge fiction that New Testament prophets can be right some of the time and wrong some of the time. Using 1 Corinthians 14:29 (“Let the others judge”), they say the message has to be sifted and evaluated and the good taken from the bad.
