Three Types of Love

by on May.01, 2012, under A Peek at the Greek, Bible Study, Doctrine

I have been thinking on this allot lately.  The “Potential of Love found in the Greek “Mood” tense for Agapao love is heart-based, based on the decision of our will to love a person. (I have fallen short on this) I repented and have found joy again.  Agape love is based on what we hear about another person in the Spirit, without a need to see it with our minds or feel it with our emotions. When Jesus saw us, He saw a race of people in sin, separated from the Father, but His heart heard what the Spirit said about us. The Spirit declared that we were people with a God-potential in us that could be restored if only there was someone willing to sacrifice himself for us, and Jesus answered the call and loved us.   (continue reading…)

Holy Days: Passover

by on Mar.31, 2012, under Feasts of The LORD, Hebrew Roots (Shoreshim), Holy Days with Zola, Patterns in Prophecy

Is Passover for Christians?  Whether or not a Christian celebrates Passover would be a matter of conscience for the individual Christian. Like all the Old Testament Jewish Feasts, the Passover Feast was a foreshadowing of Christ’s atoning work on the cross. Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that we should “let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”  We offer a series of videos from Zola Levitt Ministries on the Holy Days of the LORD.  Guests: Gershon Salomon, Sefi Hanegbi (continue reading…)

Greek Verbs Definitions

by on Mar.30, 2012, under A Peek at the Greek

Why should anyone take the time and effort to learn New Testament Greek?  There are dozens of widely accepted English translations for us to use, and a plethora of commentaries on every part of Scripture.  So why take time to learn Greek?

If we stop to think about it, the very number of translations indicates the answer to our question.  If we compare translations, we quickly understand the problem.  There are so many translations because there is no such thing as THE “correct” or “inspired” translation of any given passage.  One language cannot begin to render an exact and final translation into another language, because every word and idiom has an area of meaning and the area of meaning in one language only approximately represents the area of meaning in another language. Purim Revealed

by on Mar.07, 2012, under Feasts of The LORD

Purim Revealed The story of Purim is found in the Book of Esther. Apart from the name of the king, neither the main characters of the account nor the holiday itself are mentioned anywhere else in the Bible. The holiday of Purim is a man-made festival that originated out of the decrees of Mordecai and Queen Esther (Est. 9:29–32). Although Purim was founded in biblical times, it is not a holiday commanded by God, as are the holy convocations mentioned in Leviticus 23. The events surrounding the story took place roughly between 483 to 471 B.C. The narrative is well known.  (continue reading…)
