There are many reasons to learn Hebrew such as to read the Tenach (the Old Testament of the Bible written in Hebrew) in its original language or simply to learn how to pronounce Hebrew words such as those in Strong’s Concordance without having to use the transliterations. Probably the most advantageous reason to learn Hebrew is the ability to understand the original author’s words, rather than through the translator’s opinion of the author’s words.  This will be an ongoing series in this section with lots of video for helps.  Shalom, Keith (continue reading…)

Jesus Celebrated Hanukkah

by on Dec.02, 2010, under Hebrew Roots (Shoreshim)

Much more than the “Jewish alternative” to Christmas, Hanukkah, which means “dedication”, recalls a dark time in the history of our Jewish people, and our miraculous deliverance from that darkness. This eight-day holiday commemorates the victory of the Maccabees over the army of Antiochus Epiphanes, a time when God preserved and protected his people through the heroic act of a small band of Jewish guerilla fighters. Born in a Day!

by on Oct.25, 2010, under Hebrew Roots (Shoreshim), Israel

Israel: A Nation Is Born

In Isaiah 66:7-8, the prophet foreshadowed the re-birth of Israel, which happened “in one day.” The woman giving birth before going into labor represent Israel. This accurately describes what happened on May 14, 1948 – when the Jews declared independence for Israel as a united and sovereign nation for the first time in 2,900 years.

Isaiah prophecied that Israel would become a nation again and that it would happen in one day! (continue reading…)

4 Levels

by on Sep.06, 2010, under Classroom, Hebrew Roots (Shoreshim)

The PASHAT is the key stone of Scripture understanding. If we dis card the PASHATwe lose any real chance of an accurate under standing. We are left with a no-holds-barred game of pure imagination in which we are no longer objectively deriving mean ing from the Scriptures (exogesis), but subjectively read ing mean ing into the scriptures (eisogesis) (see 2Pt. 1:20–21; 1Tim. 4:3–4).Thus the Talmud twice warns us: “No passage loses its PASHAT” (From below) (continue reading…)

Yom Teruah Part 3

Rosh Hashanah: The Wedding of the Messiah

The Bible is a marriage covenant. Both the Tanach (Old Testament) and the Brit Hadashah (New Testament) describe how G-d through the Mashiach (Messiah), the Bridegroom, is in the process of marrying His bride, the believers in Him who will ultimately live and dwell with Him forever. Yom Teruah Part 2

In Part 2 of Ed Chumney’s excellent study on the idioms of the Feast of Trumpets.  Many people are confused and even more don’t know our cultural and spiritual roots of the Hebrew culture.  This is the fullness of time God brought forth the Messiah in a Greek speaking Roman world with a Jewish Messiah.  Read and chew on these idioms.  You will gain great insight into Gods Holy word.

“…on the first day of the [seventh] month, you shall have a sabbath-rest,a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.”

Yom Teruah Part 1

by on Jul.07, 2010, under Feasts of The LORD, Hebrew Roots (Shoreshim), Rapture

A brief introduction to The Feasts of the LORD.  In short God gave 7 feasts of His own choosing.  These would be practices for the coming Messiah. Jesus the Messiah would fulfill 4 of the first 7 feasts exactly on the day God had His Feasts (Moedim).  See other articles under Feasts of the LORD.  So we can be confident the next 3 Feasts will all happen on the same days.  But what are they… (continue reading…)

First Fruits is Easter

First Fruits is Easter

Today we have a couple of comments on Easter.  What we call Easter is actually the biblical feast of First Fruits.  Easter is and was a pagan festival that the Romans celebrated during the days of Jesus ministry.  See our article on Icons of Easter for the origins of Easter.  First Fruits and understanding what actually happened and what is to happen is a truly fruitful study. Be blessed as you worship in spirit and truth. (continue reading…)

Ha’Shem Revealed

Ha Shem Revealed

And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.  Jeremiah 12:16

Today we have a provocative topic for you.  Review the scriptures, take it to prayer and watch the whole video playlist.  I think you will be blessed as the body of Christ grows in knowledge of the Holy One of Israel.  How is YHWH to be spoken.  Should it and what’s up with LORD… (continue reading…)

Shoreshim

WHY THIS EMPHASIS?
Why then do we have this emphasise on the Jewishness of Yeshua; on the Jewishness of the Bible; on the Jewishness of the Church? The reason I’m interested in it (and that’s really the only thing I can tell you about!) is that I want to see God’s people understanding both Yeshua and the Bible better. I want to see his people getting to know Yeshua better. And the best way of getting to know Yeshua better is by getting to know the Bible better. One of the ways we can understand the Bible better is to understand how the people who wrote it thought and acted. (continue reading…)

Hebrew Roots

Why learn Hebrew or study the Old Testament too many Christians ask…  It is our very roots.  Cultural, Historic, and the very structure of the Hebrew grammar has amazing truths tucked away that God wants us to dig for.  Consider these two short videos by Pastor Mark Biltz.  I have been blessed and I want to share with you all.

[It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings [is] to search out a matter.  Proverbs 25:2 (continue reading…)

Gospel hidden in Genesis

Adam in HebrewGospel Hidden Adam to Noah

We frequently use the familiar term, gospel, or good news. Where is the first place it appears in the Bible? The answer may surprise you.  The Gospel hidden in Genesis is a great surprise tucked away in the original Hebrew that is untranslated in the proper names.

An Integrated Message

The great discovery is that the Bible is a message system: it’s not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail. (continue reading…)
