Palm Sunday: “This Thy Day”   

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it Palm Sunday, This Thy Day

 

I was thinking about Palm Sunday approaching and I can’t help but think, I don’t think I ever heard any Preacher I’ve heard expound this passage in Luke’s’ gospel Ch. 19 account.  Many skip  on by this scripture like myself for years and then I was absolutely blessed by what I learned back a few years ago.  The very day that Jesus was to present Himself as Messiah was given in advance to the prophet Daniel.  Jesus held them accountable.

Prophecy in pattern

In this section we will explore and show that from the very first book of the bible that God established signs in the heaven and earth to communicate greater truths for our benefit.  Below in Ecclesiastes  the Lord by His Spirit tells us that there is no new thing under the sun, and that what has been shall be.

It is my conjecture that there is far more to Gods prophetic pattern than most of us realize.  Let’s examine this subject.

A place called hell

The Old Testament Verses Describing Hell

The unholy trinity Death, Hell & the Grave…Jesus triumphed over them on the cross.  What are we saved from?

Consider that Jesus spoke about hell more than any of the other prophets.  He as creator not only created hell for those who reject His indescribable gift of eternal life.  Problem is God is holy.  He cannot have sin in His presence.  He solved His great love and mercy on the cross.  Justice was meted out on the cross as Jesus took the full brunt of all our sins.  He offers that free gift of salvation to those who will believe in the gospel.  That Christ died and rose again as Messiah for whosoever shall believe in His name.
