Mount St. Helens: Explosive Evidence

by on Dec.05, 2011, under Creation

Mount St. Helens provides a rare opportunity to study transient geologic processes which produced, within a few months, changes which geologists might otherwise assume required many thousands of years. The volcano, therefore, challenges our way of thinking about how the earth works, how it changes, and the time scale we are accustomed to attaching to its formations. These processes and their effects allow Mount St. Helens to serve as a miniature laboratory for catastrophism. Mount St. Helens helps us to imagine what the Biblical Flood, of Noah’s day, may have been like. (continue reading…)

The Fossil Record: Devastating Evidence

by on Dec.03, 2011, under Creation

Video Presentation by Dr. John Morris, who received his Ph.D. in geological engineering from the University of Oklahoma and is President of the Institute for Creation Research in Dallas, Texas. Evolution relies on, depends on, and believes in the “evolutionary story” of the fossil record. Several key facts punch holes in that foundation—the extreme rarity of transitional forms, stasis in the record, sudden appearance of complex animal and plant forms, and gaps between species. Discuss the supposed origin of fish, bats, fleas, flies, birds, dragonflies, marine reptiles, whales, and finally humans.  (continue reading…)

Liberals Move into Homeschoolers

by on Oct.22, 2011, under Commentary, Creation

We have been following some recent developments in which Biblical Creationist AIG founder Ken Ham whom personally shook my former evolutionary beliefs at a Homeschool conference some 15 years ago.  The following articles and links are provided to allow the discerning Christian to examine the position of AIG and BioLogos.  We know lots of homeschooler’s and Christians in general.  The thing that gets me with this issue is not that they have a minor issue but it is a fundamental faith issue that has men (BioLogos) imposing their interpretation of the past on the bible.   (continue reading…)

Battle Over Adam: Has God said

by on Aug.19, 2011, under Commentary, Creation

“Thought I would share this video clip from Peter Enns (given to students at Westmont). In 1 Corinthians 15 and Romans 5 for instance, Paul talks about Adam,” wrote Ham on his Facebook page on Saturday. “Peter Enns sees this as a problem – and that Adam shouldn’t be in the New Testament! But this is GOD’s WORD!!”   A word from Amos37.  I personally know some very nice people in a home schooling group that has just formed purchased some BioLogos curriculum.  So with this I am personally troubled by the compromise that has crept into homeschooling now.   (continue reading…)

Theistic Evolutionists Unholy Alliance

by on Aug.15, 2011, under Commentary, Creation, Soul Winning

Book reviews in recent issues of RNCSE [the Reports of the NCSE] have showcased a growing number of authors and reviewers who advocate some form of theistic evolution. . . . To . . . move toward defusing evolution as an explosive social and educational issue, I propose the perhaps shocking idea that it is time for theistic evolutionists to take over from atheists as the public face of evolution advocacy. excerpt from evolutionary atheist ”To really protect education from creationism’s inroads, it has to be marginalized NOT JUST scientifically and legally but theologically…”  Enter the Theistic evolutionist theology.   (continue reading…)

Has God said, 6 Literal Days

by on Aug.13, 2011, under Creation Seminars

Eisegesis? Ken Ham gets to the heart of the debate about the six days of creation. If we read from what the biblical text says (exegesis), it allows only one interpretation—six 24-hour days. Any other interpretation is eisegesis (“reading into” the Bible).      The “Days” of Genesis 1
What does the Bible tell us about the meaning of “day” in Genesis 1? A word can have more than one meaning, depending on the context. For instance, the English word “day” can have perhaps 14 different meanings. For example, consider the following sentence: “Back in my grandfather’s day, it took 12 days to drive across the country during the day.” (continue reading…)
