Soteriology is the study of the doctrine of salvation. Soteriology discusses how Christ’s death secures the salvation of those who believe. I saw Ken Ham speak at a homeschool confrence on Science and the subject of evolution.  I walked out of there in awe of Gods word and the simple problem of believing evolution and being a Christian.  I was raised in a secular environment and evolution was fact I thought… Oh, but there was a deep theological issue that I had not thought about yet.  After years of prayer, research, reading all sides and theories.  Simple, the bible had to be trusted, not with blind faith but a faith that is rooted in what we can observe.  AIG gives Christians answers.  We give AIG our highest recommendation.   (continue reading…)

Purim Revealed The story of Purim is found in the Book of Esther. Apart from the name of the king, neither the main characters of the account nor the holiday itself are mentioned anywhere else in the Bible. The holiday of Purim is a man-made festival that originated out of the decrees of Mordecai and Queen Esther (Est. 9:29–32). Although Purim was founded in biblical times, it is not a holiday commanded by God, as are the holy convocations mentioned in Leviticus 23. Marginalizing Christianity by quoting Jesus.  The implication of the “Judge not” admonition, is that people, particularly Christians, are not permitted to criticize what they perceive as immoral. Such an assumption is patently absurd. The point Jesus made is that we should not condemn anyone when we are even more guilty of the same offense….  If you are an avid reader of newspaper editorial columns, you can’t help but notice two reoccurring themes that come around with nauseating regularity. Both of them deal with supposed teachings of Christ. Both of them are warped, Orwellian interpretations of the whole passage understood in context. Both offer a Christian pretext, but actually marginalize Christian ethics in favor of a contrary worldview.

It would be easy to make the assumption that this is an anti-charismatic seminar. Such is not the case. When it comes to the fundamental tenets of orthodox Christianity, charismatics are in agreement with me as a Southern Baptist. I am not charismatic, but neither am I anti-charismatic. The Word of Faith Movement, however, does at times denigrate and even deny some of the fundamental, non-negotiable truths of the Christian Faith (as documented in the seminar, especially in Sessions 1 and 2).
