Ultimately all cults find a way to twist the scriptures and preach another Jesus and another gospel.  2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1:6-10.  We must be able to discern that not all who claim the name of Jesus really know Jesus.  Counterfeits are made to pass as the real thing.  Doctrine is teaching and many cults do a far better job of teaching the cultist what they believe than do many Churches what Christians believe.  A sad commentary today is Mormons convert more Baptists and Catholics because they don’t know why they believe what they believe.  All of us will have the opportunity to witness the truth about the cults and true love will risk offending the person to save that soul from a Christ-less eternity. The popularity of Baha’i can largely be attributed to its attempts to unify all faiths, prophets and the entire human race.   It embraces the humanist philosophy that all religions should be embraced equally because they are not contradictory and are merely successively updated versions of the same basic religious beliefs.  They teach that all religions are the result of the same God and the differences stem only from the age in which they were revealed. The New Age movement’s symbols are essentially the same as those used by the Jesuit Order and Freemasonry, and we can trace their origins to Babylon and Egypt. Today we look at a very familiar passage in Isaiah 14:12-19. This is the fall of Lucifer or if you may not now the name Lucifer has been edited out of MOST modern bible translations. There is a deliberate omission by modern so-called scholars who have taken the only reference to one of Satan’s names (Lucifer) and given it the name “Morning Star” or the like. The way Harold Camping approaches biblical interpretation could be summarized as reckless. First, as demonstrated above, he often takes prophecies that apply to a specific historical period and relates them instead to the end times. The context of Daniel 8:14 makes it clear that the prophecy of 2,300 days applies to the time when a tyrant by the name of Antiochus Epiphanes desecrated the Temple in Jerusalem. It was 2,300 days later, after the Maccabean Revolt, that the Temple was cleansed and rededicated. The prophecy has nothing to do with the end times or with a cleansing of the Church. Joyner and others in the modern prophetic movement have created a huge fiction that New Testament prophets can be right some of the time and wrong some of the time. Using 1 Corinthians 14:29 (“Let the others judge”), they say the message has to be sifted and evaluated and the good taken from the bad.
