A Study of Biblical Typology

BY WAYNE JACKSON

One of the most fascinating areas of Bible study is that of typology—the study of Scripture “types.” Few Christians have made any sort of in-depth investigation of biblical types. As a matter of fact, this field of study has fallen into disrepute in recent years and this can probably be accounted for on two bases:

First, the extravagant speculations of earlier typologists have left a bad taste for the study in the minds of many; they feel it has been discredited. (more…)

Fleeing_serpent Mazzaroth Gospel in the stars HydraThe Biblical View of the Constellations

David wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God … Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.” Obviously, there is a message in the heavens that we need to understand.

For centuries, astrologers have been prognosticating the future, using the zodiac and its series of planets, stars and constellations. Where did they get the idea for such a thing? What is Astrology? And, what possible connection does it have with the Bible? (more…)

Daniel Chapter 3 The Fiery Furnace

Daniel Chapter 3 The Fiery Furnace

Daniel Ch 3 Faith in Fiery Trials Video CommentaryTHE BOOK OF DANIEL is quoted often in the New Testament Book of Revelation. In many ways, the two books need to be read and studied together. Daniel lived at an important time of ancient history and his story is critical to our understanding of what is happening today. His visions speak powerfully of the end times, and his writing continues to exalt the “Most High God.” The accuracy and reliability of his remarks concerning future events have caused many to question his authorship of this book. However we have complete confidence that he not only wrote the book, but that God used him powerfully to bring His message to His people about what is about to happen in our time. The Jewish Wedding & The Rapture

The Jewish Wedding & The Rapture

new-jerusalem200There is an interesting parallel between a Jewish wedding and the Rapture.  Only a Pre-Tribulation Rapture will fit into this scenario.  We, the betrothed (Christ’s Church ) currently await the return of our Bridegroom to take us to the wedding chamber (the rapture ) to spend seven years (while the tribulation occurs on Earth ). We will then celebrate the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and depart with our Bridegroom for our new home, the new Jerusalem. ~ Revelation 21:1-4.  See an overview with hyperlinks for scripture. Just hover over scriptures.  This is one of the most eye opening studies that use an excellent historical look at the cultural aspects of our Hebrew Roots. (more…)

rain-cats-n-dogsWhat is an idiom?  It is a noun that a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., raining cats and dogs.)  The Hebrew bible is full of Hebrew idioms, if you don’t understand the Hebrew traditions, culture, etc., of the Jewish men who wrote the bible, you will not understand the idiom (words/meaning/context) in which it was spoken. In order to understand a person, you need to understand their culture. To understand the Jewish men who wrote our bible, we must think Jewish, like they did.  This section is intended for a quick ready reference.  We hope you enjoy.   (more…)

Holy Days: Passover

Holy Days: Passover

Is Passover for Christians?  Whether or not a Christian celebrates Passover would be a matter of conscience for the individual Christian. Like all the Old Testament Jewish Feasts, the Passover Feast was a foreshadowing of Christ’s atoning work on the cross. Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that we should “let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”  We offer a series of videos from Zola Levitt Ministries on the Holy Days of the LORD.  Guests: Gershon Salomon, Sefi Hanegbi (more…)

Iranian President Ahmadinejad, A Modern Day Haman

Benjamin Netanyahu UN Speech

Jews around the world celebrate Purim, the record of God’s protection from total destruction by a Persian leader named Haman. This took place 2500 years ago and at the same time, the Jewish state of Israel prepares for an attack from another Persian ruler, the modern day Haman, named Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran. The book of Esther, in the Bible, gives the account of how wicked Haman wanted to eliminate all Jews from the face of the earth and how the Jewish Queen Esther had come into the Persian kingdom at the right time and was instrumental in saving her people from total destruction. Hermeneutics Session 01

Hermeneutics Session 01

The purpose of this page is to present a comprehensive and coherent methodology for Biblical interpretation. Many skeptics have complained that the Bible can’t tell us anything of any real value because every person interprets it differently. While this is surely an overstatement – there is a great deal contained in the Bible that many Bible-believing Christians do in fact agree on – the reason why there are so many different interpretations is because interpreters don’t follow any sensible or consistent method. This naturally leads to inaccurate, inconsistent, illogical and naive interpretations.  We imploy the Grammatical-Historical Method.   (more…)
