Truth 101

“What is truth?” Pontius Pilate, Jerusalem 33 AD.

33 Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

³⁴ Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”

³⁵ Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”

³⁶ Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

³⁸ Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.”

Jesus is the Truth. He is the “logos” which is Greek for the “word” as stated by the Apostle John in his love letter to all of humanity.

Jesus is The Logos

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was in the beginning with God.

³ All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. ⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it…..¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-5, 14.

The ultimate truth is that Jesus is God… A myriad of religious thought stumbles over this doctrine. Jehovah witness says that Jesus is “a god” little “g” but not God almighty. Wrong! Mormons say that Jesus was a one of many that became gods and so can you if you follow the Mormon faith. Wrong! Islam teaches that Jesus is a prophet of Allah, no more and that Jesus will come back with their Mahdi and claim he never died. The Catholic official teaching on the Mass is that Jesus is sacrificed over and over again on every altar at every Catholic mass. Wrong! Christ died once for our sins. If you are Catholic you may not even be aware that this is taught by the Catholic Church. She slaughtered millions to push this one doctrine on the people which led to the Dark Ages with horrible persecution. See here in 1 Peter 3:18 by the false notion that Peter was the first Pope. Peter said,

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

The author of Hebrews says over and over that Jesus died ONCE as our High Priest not some man made pious act of speaking incantations to wafers like some kind of magician. Note: count how many times that this point is emphasized. If you are Catholic read it for yourself and trusts the bible to speak for itself. Man has always tried improving on Gods plan. Silly huh!

²⁶ For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; ²⁷ who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. ²⁸ For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever. Hebrews 7:26-28

⁷ But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; ⁸ the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. ⁹ It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience- ¹⁰ concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

The Heavenly Sanctuary

¹¹ ¹² Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?. ²² And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission….

Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

²³ Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; ²⁵ not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another- ²⁶ He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. ²⁷ And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, ²⁸ so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

¹⁰ By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. ¹² But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³ from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. ¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

¹⁵ But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

¹⁶ “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” ¹⁷ then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” ¹⁸ Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Hebrews ch. 9 & 10 selected verses.

How can you not understand that! I submit to you that they do and it is a demonic doctrine of devils. This to is what the bible says will happen is false teachings and doctrines of demons would come as in 1 Timothy 4:1

The Great Apostasy

4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, ³ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

I also want to mention here that the bible teaches that there are many false Christ’s and Different Gospel and Another Jesus. 2 Corinthians 11:4

⁴ For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-you may well put up with it!

The truth many, many stumble at is that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh and that He walked among men as a man. Being fully God and fully man and experienced everything emotion that He might be a faithful High Priest to God the Father. You can have a conversation with many about God, but mention Jesus and then things change. Why? It is because they are in spiritual darkness and they just don’t comprehend the things of God. Pray that God would give you light to comprehend the things He has for you which is life eternal through the preaching of the cross. This idea of the cross leads to another question. If Jesus was God why did He die on a cross? Why are so many offended by Jesus and the cross? And it was for once and for all who will believe. Believe!
