The Regathering in Jerusalem.

Chapter Three

By Dave White

There is no doubt the first “birth pang” had to have been the creation of the modern state of Israel in May of 1948. This event in itself was a miracle of miracles. Consider:

In A.D. 70, the Roman legions, under the Roman emperor Titus, were ordered to crush Jerusalem and its inhabitants, the Jews. The city was left in ruin, hundreds of thousands were killed and survivors were scattered throughout the world, mostly in the large cities of Europe. This event, like all events related to Gods’ plan for the ages, was recorded in the Holy Bible:

Moreover, the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the Earth to the other end of the Earth, and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known,

…your life shall hang in doubt before you…. And have no assurance of your life.

(Deuteronomy 28:64,66)

This attack (A.D. 70) was one of many satanically inspired attempts to “snuff out” God’s chosen people from existence and therefore render all of His promises and His plan for the future useless and void. For without the Jewish people firmly planted in Jerusalem in the latter days, there will be no fulfillment of prophecy and God’s plan would be exposed as false. You see, God has chosen the Jewish people to reveal Himself to all mankind. Jesus Christ, The King of Kings, The Lord of all Lords, the Savior of the world, was Jewish, a direct descendant of Abraham, from which God promised the Messiah would come. Now, the Jews rejected Jesus as Messiah and had Him killed; but Gods promises remained. Throughout most of history the Jews have fallen into rebellion against God. But God, being rich in mercy, holy and just, has never forgotten the promises made to Abraham. God made many promises to Abraham. None greater than the promise that Messiah would come from his seed. Oh, how Satan hated this plan. Oh, how if he could, would he like to stop Gods’ plan. Oh, what a fool.

The Jewish people and culture have survived countless attempts at extermination over the past 2,000 years. Only the hand of the Almighty could have kept them together. And that’s just what he did. On May 14, 1948 Israel, miracle of miracles became a nation. At that point, the Holy Scriptures, Like birth pangs, came alive. God, again, wishing no one to be caught unaware, predicted Israel’s regathering in the book of Ezekial:

For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land. (Ezekial 36:24)

Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says The Lord, “ behold I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into theland of Israel. (Ezekial 37:12)

After many days you will be summoned, in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whoseinhabitants have been gathered from the many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste, but its people were brought out from the nations and they are living securely, all of them.

( Ezekial 38:8)

What a perfect description of what God has provided with the rebirth of modern Israel in 1948. God not only predicted that Israel would be “reborn” as a nation in the latter days but that she would be the center of the world’s attention.

Just after The Rapture of the church great confusion will sweep the world. There is no doubt you are living in that fear and doubt right now. You should be looking for the sudden rise of a great leader, one that seems to have answers to what has happened. (more on antichrist later). But as this relates to Israel, this false Christ, acting as leader of a revived and powerful Europe, (America could be a partner) guarantees peace to Israel for seven years.

This happens soon after the rapture.

“And he (antichrist) will make a firm covenant with the many for one week (7 years), but in the middle of the week (31/2 years) he will put a stop to sacrifices and grain offerings, and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate.

…And they will set up the abomination of desolation” (Daniel 9:27, 11:31)

The important point to understand right here is that the bible predicts Israel will exist as a nation just after The Rapture, She will sign a peace treaty with Antichrist and antichrist will allow sacrifices and grain offerings to resume (this is of utmost importance to the Jewish people) in the holy place. The “holy place” must be the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. Obviously, for the “end time” events described in the book of Daniel to occur, Israel must occupy Jerusalem.

Ask God to reveal His plan to you. Ask Him, as we read these pages; “Oh God, give me a heart to believe, show me Lord, Your plan for the ages.

The recapture of Jerusalem by Israel in 1967

On June 5, 1967, the Arab nations surrounding Israel went on the attack. Their goal was the recapture of West Jerusalem and ultimately the destruction of the Jewish State. Things didn’t turn out quite as they planned. Israel crushed the combined might of the Arab forces in what is referred to as the 6-day war. In 6 days Israel captured East Jerusalem, The Golan Heights, the West Bank of the Jordan River, the Gaza strip and the Sinai Desert.

The importance to biblical scholars was the recapture of the eastern half of Jerusalem. The next “birth pang” had just materialized. It was now possible for the Jews to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. The Temple was the center of all religious worship in the Jewish religion. For the first time, it was possible for the predicted rebuilding of the temple and the “Abomination of Desolation” (don’t worry we’ll fully explain later) to take place. It was after the recapturing of Jerusalem that many Christians realized that prophecy was happening and the end was near.

“So you too, when you see all these things, recognize that he is near, right at the door”

(Matthew 24:33)

Make no mistake about it- the bible declares clearly that a one-world government is coming. Appearing at first to be the beautiful solution to everything it will be eventually unmasked as Satan’s kingdom bringing utter destruction, but, by then, it will (may?) be too late. The New Age will be upon us.2
