Coming in the CloudsPart Two Chapter  9 After The Rapture:

The Things to Come  By Dave White

Introduction

For so long true believers in Christ, citizens of heaven, yet still on earth, have placed their hope in the greatly anticipated return of Christ for His church. His promise to return was considered the “blessed hope,” when the sin and the pain and the heartaches of this world would be replaced with redemption and the glory of God’s promised kingdom of righteousness. The struggle of this world would finally be over. For those whose lives were surrendered to Christ, the luster of the world had worn off, and our hearts were fixed on the things to come. Biblical prophecy became an obvious fixation. As more and more events fell into place, the “blessed hope” became more and more tangible.

The reality was setting in, wow! Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming! He’s really coming! He’s coming soon! He could come now!

In fact, as the 20th century came to a close, and we all braced for the phony scare of Y2K there was nothing left in bible prophecy to prevent His coming for His church (1 Thessalonians 4:13) at any moment. That is why we put this book together. It is a product of our hope and excitement.

We knew the time was short, but no one was listening. If you recall, the economic times couldn’t have been better, prosperity was everywhere, people’s attentions were firmly fixed on this world. God was becoming more and more irrelevant.

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “where is the sign of His coming?”

(2 Peter 3:3,4)

And so, we fixed our eyes on the future, knowing the time would come, and you would need the Lord. The time has come. Maybe now, more will listen.

50 Reasons,Pre Trib,Rapture,Listed,

In Christian circles, this great event was called the Rapture. Many of the differences of opinion and arguments between Christians are quite silly now (Those post tribulation saints having been raptured with us pre-tribbers). Be that as it may, you, my friend, are living in the aftermath of this incredible event, an occurrence that has certainly affected everyone.

Apart from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, this has got to be the most transforming moment of all time. Nothing can be the same again. Even now (AD 2000), attempting to conceptualize all you are going through is difficult. It’s hard to imagine the terror of surviving such an event. With the sudden disappearance of 5-7% (our estimate) of the world’s population, the destruction and devastation must be awesome. In Matthew 24, Jesus describes these times as “perilous” and a time of “tribulation” developing into a time of “great tribulation.”

Emotionally, you must be overwhelmed with uncertainty and confusion. Financially, the economic world must be in ruins, unemployment must be the rule, not the exception. But, most of all, spiritually, the world has never been blinder!

There is a void, a vacuum, existing within each and every human heart, which will serve as the battleground between two opposing worldviews in the weeks to come. What shall you believe? In whom shall you believe? “How now shall you live”? There is nothing in the past to hold on to now. Only two divergent explanations will emerge.

Is mankind the master of his own destiny? Or is God?

Is mankind a part of the creative force in the universe? Or is God the separate, self-existent creator?

Can man become God through some guided evolutionary process? Or are we simply, yet profoundly, God’s creation?

These questions were so easily avoided before The Rapture. But now everyone has the same void, that paralyzing insecurity about what’s happened and what’s to come. We can not escape these questions. The void is too real. The void must be filled. There is comfort only with plausible explanations.

God will see to it that only two choices emerge. Will you come to faith in the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Or will you become a part of the greatest deception of all time?

In part 1, we gave concrete reasons why we believed the end was near and the rapture was imminent. Now we’ll attempt to guide you through the perilous times the Bible foretold would be in your immediate future, beginning just after the rapture.

Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him,

So it is to be. Amen.  Revelation 1:7
