In 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” And in the book of Hebrews it says, “And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” Hebrews 1:7
Angelology: The doctrine of angels
Angelology is the study of angels. There are many unbiblical views of angels in the world today. Some believe angels are human beings who have died. Others believe that angels are impersonal sources of power. Still others entirely deny the existence of angels. A good biblical understanding of Angelology will correct these incorrect beliefs. Angelology tells us what the Bible says about angels. It is a study of how the angels relate to humanity and serve God’s purposes. Here are some important issues in Angelology: We have heard much about angels: Did you know that many false religion, cults, Ism’s and Eastern Mystical experiences have angelic origins. Jehovah Witness’s, Mormonism, The Way International, Islam, Todd Bently, Rick Joyner, And New Agers have all had many encounters with angels. Largely they are angels who are sent as messengers. For the Christian we are warned to discern between both good and evil. It must be said that spirits are sent forth to minister for God and that there are unclean and evil spirits that are sent from the evil one to spread lies from the father of lies. As the apostle Paul reminded the Church at Corinth in 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 that the first lie was spread by a crafty angel lucifer, the serpent of old, the dragon and Satan himself who as Paul says by the Holy Spirit,But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! ….For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. Why even bring this up. Well lately we have encountered many so called manifestations of the new apostles and prophets in the Church who are bringing in destructive heresies. People who are unskilled in the word of God and who are looking for the next move of God are completely vulnerable to this deception. New self proclaimed prophets who say things like “we are not content with prior (read biblical) revelation, but are giving the Church new revelation. This also lends itself to a group that is calling for the manifest sons of god (super saints) to take the world for Jesus Christ now called Kingdom Now and Dominion Theology. They are blind guides who bully those who are do not accept their apostleship and revelation. Funny that is just what the Lord warned us would come in His old bible. Pretty relevant for today I think! See they bring ultimately a new gospel, but they are deceitful workers, transforming (call it change) for the Church. And again I urge you in this study for it is for today, that their is more and more deception being kindled by people given over to angels like Todd Bently who just demonstrates that discernment in the Church is at an all time low. This is why they don’t teach the word of God vs. by vs. No it is experience that rules the day, but Gods word has told us this was coming,
What does the Bible say about angels? Angels are entirely a different order of being from humans. Human beings do not become angels after they die. Angels will never become, and never were, human beings. God created the angels, just as He created humanity. Do we have guardian angels? There is no doubt that good angels help protect, reveal information, guide, provide for, and minister to believers in general. The question that is difficult to answer is whether each person or each believer has an angel assigned to him/her. Angelology gives us God’s perspective on angels. Angels are personal beings who worship and obey God. God sometimes sends angels to “interfere” in the course of humanity. Angelology helps us to recognize the warfare that exists between God’s angels and Satan and his demons. A proper understanding of Angelology is very important. When we understand that angels are created beings, just as we are, we realize that worshipping or praying to angels robs God of the glory that belongs to Him alone. It was God, not angels, who sent His Son to die for us, who loves and cares for us, and who alone is worthy of our adoration. A key verse on Angelology is Hebrews 1:14, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-9
