The First Greek gods: Chaos

According to the Hesiod’s Theogony (around 700 BC), in the beginning, there was Chaos as a primeval state of existence. Chaos was the primal emptiness- a dark, silent, formless and infinite oddity with no trace of life.

Out of Chaos, Mother Earth Gaea first came into existence. Full of life and power, Gaea created high mountains, low lands, rivers, lakes, and seas. Soon Chaos created Tartarus, the embodiment of the Underworld who built his home deep below the World of Gaea. Gaea and Tartarus united and created Typhoeus (Typhoon), an appalling, fire-breathing dragon with hundred heads.

The Occult Connections: Mystery Babylon

Mystery, Babylon, Explained, History, Video, notes,

When we look at history and the movement of the Babylonian Priesthood from the Tower of Babel.  When the nations where scattered Genesis 11.  God confused the languages and the account of Creation is perverted, inverted. The Mystery Babylonian religions are born and scattered to the four winds.  By the time the Greeks codify the Mystery Religions into Greek Mythology.

In Genesis 10, we have the roll call of the nations, where we see the descendants of Noah spreading out and repopulating the earth after the flood.  We see the beginning of the settlement and founding of nations and empires. As the roll call is being sounded, we come to the descendants of Cush, which literally means, “Ethiopian,” for that area is where he and many of his descendants settled. One of his descendants that God wants us to pay special attention to is a man named Nimrod, “the Mighty Hunter before the Lord.” Now some important facts about this man are as follows:

1. Nimrod means “rebellion or rebel.”
2. “Mighty hunter before the Lord” could also be translated, “Mighty tyrant in the face of the Lord.”
3. He hunted for man’s souls more so than animals.

The Greco-Roman tradition of Prima Materia, notably including 5th and 6th centuries Orphic cosmogony was merged with biblical notions (Tehom) in Christian belief and inherited by alchemy and Renaissance magic.

The cosmic egg of Orphism was taken as the raw material for the alchemical magnum opus in early Greek alchemy. The first stage of the process of producing the Lapis Philosophorum, i.e., nigredo, was identified with chaos. Because of association with the creation in Genesis, where “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Gen. 1:2), Chaos was further identified with the element Water. -Wikipedia
