Sola Sisters

We at Amos37 regularly see Sola Sisters at the front of many of the topics that are confronting the Church today. Both are former New Agers and occultists. We also note at Amos37 that, following many popular teachers and the many errors creeping into many Churches. Through what I call “Marque Christianity”. This is troubling to many of us, since, for many today, Bible study means getting the latest popular book or author and reading what they have said. No, we must be like the Bereans of Acts 17:11 “.. and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Sola gets Amos37 highest rating. Check them out.

Sola Sisters are two sisters (Christine Pack & Cathy Mathews) who were saved from New Age Spirituality and now have a deep love for the Word of God. Instead of standing on the shifting ground of whatever new teaching-fad-class-book-technique-discipline-etc. to come along, we now stand firmly upon the Rock of Christ. The name of our blog comes from the rallying cry of the Reformation, because it was through understanding and studying the “Solas” that we became firmly rooted in Truth.

Sola Fide (by faith alone)

Sola Scriptura (by Scripture alone)

Sola Gratia (by grace alone)

Solo Christo (through Christ alone)

Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory)

This blog also came about because of our concern over false teachings we realized were entering today’s Church. Having both been saved OUT of the New Age and occultism, we were alarmed when we began to see some of the same things we saw in the New Age creeping into the church… only now, these practices have been cleverly repackaged with Christian terminology, making them all the more deceptive.

“The LORD your God will cut off before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land, and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.” You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods. See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.” (Deut. 12:29-32, our emphasis)

We therefore want to sound a warning to the church today and to encourage and equip others who might be experiencing a similar situation in their own churches. As Christians, we must remember that God has called his people to be set apart unto him, to be in the world, but not of the world. Syncretizing our worship of the LORD with pagan practices is what the LORD calls “detestable.”

We both write under the authority of our husbands, and are thankful for this God-ordained “covering” (Ref 1 Corinthians 11:1-16).
