As a Christian, I’m looking at this new show on ABC, Flash Forward. The premise for the premiere was interesting: what I perceive with this show, and the myriad of movies being pumped out, is that it seems to be anticipating something. If you haven’t seen the promos. It opens like this. Something has happened the “Flash Forward”, where everyone, oops nearly everyone has blacked out and has had some vision of the future and some not. The scene is mass chaos. Planes going down, cars crashing, people dropping right where they stand unconscious, leading to the deaths of 20 million.
Is Hollywood Preparing The Masses For The Tribulation
Look at this seemingly normal day, then boom, all hell breaks loose.

You see that Satan, our adversary, needs an answer or answers for the rapture of the church when it happens. He seems to have been conditioning the population to expect something big and strange.
What is all this programming about? It seems to be setting the stage for the “End Time Delusion” that follows on the heels of the Great Apostasy that is in free fall now. The mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Simply put, I see Hollywood, TV, MTV, and music creating an atmosphere of “What happened?” The next prophetic event on the horizon for the Church of Jesus Christ is the Harpazo (Rapture). This is the great snatching away of the Saints of God as the Lord promised for those who love Him.
Note that the Apostle Paul addressed the Church at Thessalonica in 2 Thessalonians Ch. 2. Let’s review some things here first; then I will postulate what may be happening in the programming of the masses under unrighteous deception.
A little background. The Apostle Paul is writing the second epistle to the church to clarify the church’s concerns that the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ had already happened. The key to understanding is this epistle’s premise. Some one was trying to deceive this church. They needed clarification of what they were taught.
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5.
The Apostle Paul Confirms The Second Coming
See, the Apostle Paul is clarifying what they had already been taught. The enemy was trying and did confuse the doctrine of the Harpazo and the Second Coming. However, in this epistle, he gives us more detail surrounding these prophetic events.
You see the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, as it was back in the Apostles’ day. Going further in Chapter 2, follow along with me. Verse 6-
And now you know what is restraining, that he (person is known as antichrist) may be revealed in his own time.
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He (Much debate over who this {He}) who now restrains [will do so] until He is taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:6
It is my view, and many good scholars agree, that this is the person of the Holy Spirit. Who restrains the flood of evil on the earth. But like Abraham’s servant, Eliezer (meaning Comforter), gets a bride for his Son. Way back in Genesis 22, Abraham has just been tested by God in the offering of Isaac and the death of his wife, Sarah. Abraham asks his servant (Holy Spirit) is called a servant by scriptures to find his son Isaac a wife from among the gentiles back home. This, by the way, and we can’t get into too much here, is a beautiful picture of the Trinity at work.
Abraham (the Father), Issac (the promised son), and the servant, who we find out is Eliezer, which means comforter. The same title Jesus gives the Holy Spirit. Simply Awesome! God teaches in patterns, types, and similitudes (Hosea 12:10)
- In Genesis 24 we have the wonderful love story of Isaac and Rebekah, modeling a much more wonderful love story of Christ and His Church. Once again, the Holy Spirit draws some amazing parallels between an unnamed servant — revealed as Eliezer (which means Comforter) in Genesis 15:2. Isaac sends Eliezer to get his Gentile bride (Rebekah), just as Christ sent the Holy Spirit to gather His Gentile bride (the Church) … Rebekah is brought to Isaac by Eliezer, just as the Church is brought to Christ by the Holy Spirit … Rebekah is brought to Isaac before Isacc returns, just as the Church is brought (raptured) to Christ before he returns! Is this getting to you yet? LOL!
- In Genesis 24:22, Eliezer gives gifts to Rebekah, just as the Holy Spirit gives gifts to the Church … and in Genesis 24:55, Rebekah decides and never returns, just as the Church (those who have also “decided”) is raptured to Heaven and remains! And, as if that wasn’t enough, Isaac’s name doesn’t appear in the Scriptures from “Calvary” (in Genesis 22:19) until he meets his bride, just as Christ doesn’t appear again until He comes for His bride: the Church. Note: The very hill where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac is the very hill where Christ was crucified.
With that established, let’s continue with my postulation of what Satan knows he cannot stop (the Rapture). I have read and researched nearly all the cults and isms out there. Many, like the New Age, Islam, and the like, have end-times scenarios that are what I call “Inverted”. They got it all upside down! The father of lies knows the word of God and always seeks to pervert it. He did in the garden and at the temptation of Christ. The Apostate Church that is prophesied to come and is, and the whore that rides the beast, are all part of the end-time delusion. Count on deception as the plot of this series and man’s effort to solve this apart from God. Christianity will be minimized and mocked par excellence as the usual Hollywood tag line. Yawn!
Satan Knows He Has a Short Time
However. Once the rapture happens, Satan knows he has but a short time, so he needs to have a short list of ready plans to go because he will have only 7 years to do his worst, and he will be allowed to, as we pick it up again in Ch. 2 verse 8.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
Note this wicked one will be revealed after the restrainer is removed, as many of us see it as the removal of the Church, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, to be brought as the bride for Christ. The Bible teaches this repeatedly through patterns, as stated in Ecclesiastes 1:9, Hosea 12:10, and our Amos 3:7 tagline. You see, there is always a natural progression. The wicked one is better known as the antichrist, who will try to pass himself off as man’s answer to all his problems. This will work to a large degree, as God allows it to. Get this:
“whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness”
Wow, are you kidding me? All power and signs and lying wonders to deceive, that’s always Satan’s M. O. Why does God Almighty allow this mass deception and power to deceive the enemy? Simple will allow those who did not want Him and His righteous plan of salvation to be deceived by the coming antichrist. Why? Because they loved unrighteousness and that is what they will receive in spades as God pours out a strong delusion that “that love not the truth”. God has what I call a reflective policy. God gives people over to the dark desires if they continue to refuse His truth. Classic: be careful what you ask for.
With that background, I see the global population being conditioned to expect a global disaster of epic proportions. Whether it is some science experiment, alien invasion, or the New Age quantum leap that will open Pandora’s box. Two: Some “man”, Superman, Neo will step forward with a peace plan as the world begins to go nuts without salt and light to keep the corruption back. Three: This person will seize control of three major areas of life. He will have a global religion that the false prophet will point to him as the god of this world.
He will gain control of global commerce with the mark of the beast, so that no one may buy or sell without his mark. Whatever that may be, it will be a willful acceptance of allegiance to Satan’s Superman. Lastly, he will also take control of the last global empire as a world leader. He will come on the scene peaceably but will show his true nature as some will try to oppose him, and he will ruthlessly persecute and crush everything and everyone who will oppose him. This will be the great tribulation.
In one scene, a young woman, Nicole Kirby, gets weak counseling from a minister and later ends up in a Sanctuary meeting. The meaning is plain to me. Christianity has no answers! But only T-shirts. The typical worldview of Christians. Sadly, too many soft Christians make this all too plausible. However, it is the subtle conditioning of what is coming; keep that in mind as you go to the movies or watch TV. But above all, if you are a believer. Get to know your bible. Jesus said the key indicator of the last days would be deception.
False religions and false prophets will abound and show signs and wonders that ultimately lead people away from the simplicity of the gospel. In the first episode of Flash Forward, one of the characters is some religious guru (supposedly Christian), but I’ll wager not! He will have all the outward appearances of what the world thinks is religious, but it will not be that Jesus is the only way to the Father. That Jesus died, was buried, and rose again bodily in fulfillment of the scriptures to shed His blood for our sins. No! That would be repugnant to the world to be so arrogant as to say Jesus is the only way. I’m sure that they will use this character to misrepresent Christianity and use it as a tool for apostasy. Sanctuary: this man’s church has some strange logo that doesn’t symbolize a cross, but maybe someone can tell us what that is. My guess is that it is some eastern mystical symbol.
Israel will be deceived by the man and allow him to enforce a 7-year peace treaty. He will break that exactly halfway through, and Jerusalem will be sacked again! Wrath is poured out on the beast and his kingdom by God as Israel finally turns to her Messiah and repents as Judah did with Joseph.
In conclusion, this is just another fanciful drama that will condition the masses to expect disaster, hard times, lawlessness, and that it MOST CERTAINLY wasn’t God who is going to take the true church away before the judgment of the earth dwellers for rejecting their Creator. Anything but that the world will ultimately believe.

Dear people of faith,
i found this while searching google for “christianity Flashforward” i did the search because i was.. let’s say, not pleased by the fact of seeing a cross in almost every scene of the series, while the series is alot about science(fiction). The simple fact that people saw a minute or two of their future, is seen as a act of god? how is this possible, and why? because of the whole faith thing in the series, (the FBI-)people acted against all human-nature/instinct. whilst the rest was in panic, which would be the most logical way of survival. having simply faith in the future merely creates an eased look on the situation and the abscence of things as adrenaline.
i ask myself, is god really that needed in the series, does god really add up in this series and/or does it belong there?
with much respect to all people who believe in a god, it is not needed to push religion into anything and/or anyone. that is the true power of free will, not to ask if people want to be religious. because being religious is a feeling, either you have it or not, but learning someone a feeling, is making them fake it.
