Early History of the Churches: Documenting the Move Away from the Church’s Origin in Jewish Roots

Early church fathers who began the march away from the Jewish roots of our faith began to replace the Jewishness of the early church. Justin Martyr, Tertullian, Origen, and others began moving away from a literal, historical, grammatical interpretation to an allegorical method. When the Church was born in the Upper Room, the Holy Spirit enabled those first believers to preach the Gospel. They were Jewish, and Jesus was a Jewish Messiah fulfilling Jewish prophets inspired by God.

This shaped the modern view of Amillennialism and the subjective reasoning of scriptures that blind many to what is one of the greatest signs ever given. The birth of Israel. We look at Romans 11.
