Appeasement leads to WAR!
Lessons from Joshua
I have been watching a trend of what I would call the spirit of appeasement. It is a vile sign of weakness among politicians, corporations, and liberal clergy. In attempts to please the majority, values are always compromised. Sometimes this works, but by and by, most of the time we see a wholesale giveaway of ethics, morals, and political capital. Politicians spout “Change”, businesses cry “Diversity”, and pulpits are silent not to offend the politically correct crowd.

The only thing that happens when the truth of God’s word is under the sway of appeasement is that time is gained by the enemy to launch his offensive at the cowards of appeasement.
Hitler gained strategic advantage with the weak political world leaders of his day. Today we have liberals who meet terrorist heads of state.
Willing to sit down and discuss peace with people who are committed to whipping out a nation just for being Jewish. They have national charters, laws, religious obligations, and elect terrorists as political parties. This isn’t something done in a corner! We have lost our will to do what is right. I blame the pulpits of America and myself for not fighting the good fight of faith. We have opened the floodgates of hell by not turning off our TVs; we vote with our pocketbook; we don’t want to offend anyone by telling them they are in sin.
There is coming, we believe, shortly that the governments of the world will again, as Neville Chamberlain did, seek to appease the nations of the Middle East and ignore all the warning signs and sign a worthless peace of paper. Through the vehicle of land for peace, as the prophet Joel tells us, before Armageddon it will be because they divided the land. Borders of Wickedness

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and [for] my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. Joel 3
Since the end of World War II, the world has sought to partition the land of Israel through feigned policies of appeasement.
People are hungry for spiritual things. The sheer volume of pseudo-spiritual junk food shows the hunger of the spirit. Hypocrites, prosperity preachers, cults, and a myriad of just lukewarm Christians have left the expected taste of dragon’s breath with them.
Churches, governments, and corporations are looking to appease large segments and are now reaping the whirlwind of moral failure. While we have made great gains in prosperity, our nation has kicked God Almighty to the curb. This spirit of appeasement has given the adversary of ours souls and the tiny nation of Israel a foothold to launch his final offensive to wipe out God’s ultimate plan of redemption for mankind. If Satan could just destroy Israel, then he could show God is a liar. That God could not keep His promises to Israel, and that would vindicate the devil. It won’t happen, but God will allow Satan to drive Israel as a nation back to Him through much tribulation in the time of Jacob’s trouble.
We will look at Joshua’s mostly successful campaigns against God’s enemies, in a non-appeasing fashion, to crush the enemy completely. Then, in an incident, they did not seek God’s counsel, which led to what will still be a future event to finally deal with the sin problem of nations (idolatry).
A Thorn in the side!
Joshua was the greatest warrior the Lord God ever had. He did not appease the enemy except in one incident where he and the children of Israel were deceived into a false peace agreement with the inhabitants of Gibeon. Joshua 9: This agreement led to an occasion where the Lord delivered 5 kings at once to Joshua. However, overall, the children of Israel did not complete the task. Making peace in the generations to come, the Lord God warned that they would become “thorns in their sides”. Yeah, I think we can confirm that!
And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report. Isaiah 28:15-18
For the bed is shorter than that [a man] can stretch himself [on it]: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself [in it]. (Sounds a little like land for peace giving away too much…Israel getting smaller and smaller. It bears watching over. Covenant with death is, I believe, a clear reference to a future contract with the infamous antichrist)
Scriptures teach that Israel will enter into a seven-year agreement with what we call the man of sin. This will start the seven-year tribulation. Halfway, after 42 months, the abomination of desolation will occur. Anyone serious about bible prophecy needs to nail this down. At some point after the rapture of the church, God will begin to finish the work outlined in Daniel ch. 9. The final week (prophetically) will be finalized. Israels future is found in the past. Consider that in Romans it speaks of God’s prophetic character like this: (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Romans 4: That is awesome! That is the God we serve. I once heard that for every scripture about Jesus’ first coming, there are eight about His second coming. You need to examine that for yourself. It is wonderful to study the word of God.
And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.” Josh 10:8
Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge

Future appeasement: The whole world is up in arms about the Middle East peace process. It is complicated for the worldly mind. They want the Arab oil. They want the wonderful things the Jews bring to technology, and the like. The problem is ancient. They hate each other. It is not that we are pro-Israeli or anti Arab. The simple fact is that God says, “Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.” Ezekiel 36
See, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one can claim anything but God’s promises. God gave the land to Israel by promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. His name is on the deed. The church has not replaced Israel. That is dangerous! Abraham was asleep when God made the land covenant. God did tell them that He would scatter them out (diaspora), but then regather them in unbelief before He pours out His Spirit of grace. It is God’s work that He will accomplish because He is faithful, not us. That’s why we should pray for Jerusalem’s peace.
Joshua’s Error
For the LORD shall rise up as [in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as [in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. Isaiah 28
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man (The LORD) over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, [Art] thou for us, or for our adversaries? Joshua 5
And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them. Joshua 10
But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. Joshua 7
Appeasement, literally: calming, reconciling, acquiring peace by way of concessions or gifts (the verb ‘to pay’ also goes back to the Latin ‘pax’ = peace). Most commonly, appeasement refers to the policy of accepting an aggressor’s imposed conditions instead of armed resistance, usually at the expense of principles. It usually means giving in to an aggressor’s demands to avoid war. Since World War II, the term has taken on a negative connotation in the British government, in politics, and more generally, as weakness, cowardice, and self-deception. Appeasement – Wikipedia,

The policies of the UN, politicians, and liberal preachers afraid of the truth in the face of the aggressors are increasingly giving the gullible public the candy of appeasement.
Barack Obama has already stated that he will sit down and talk with promoters of terrorism. Appeasement is a policy for cowards and those who are so self-deluded that they somehow feel that they can, in some magical way, steer the course by making concessions. Gone is doing what is right and wrong and standing up for what should be done. No, we have Jr. Senators running for the highest office and people swooning like little girls at a concert. In Deuteronomy 28, God states that He will send madness to the nation that turns aside from His word.
I look upon the pulpits in America, and men with huge congregations don’t have the huzpa to tell the people that the adversary of their souls is aggressively taking everything from us. Killing our kids with MTV, drugs, sex on demand, violent video games, and daytime TV that should make us blush. No, we have heaps of people speaking smooth words and handing out candy when we need meat! The pulpits reek of appeasement. Keep the people in the seats, keep the coffers clinking, build another sepulcher to our own egos.
Their are some good churches, but the plain fact is: If Americas pulpits where not appeasing the brats sitting in front of them every week then same sex marriages would not even be flourishing as it is now.
We need to return to the truth and be good doctors and give the strong medicine unless our sheep perish. We as the overall church in America are guilty of “the sin of omission”. We are not sounding the warning and cowards will be held accountable to God for the sheep that are lost. Wake up! It is far latter than most of us know.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

I think the only thing that is keeping God’s full judgment off of America is our stand with Israel. We have many, many plagues of illicit sex, drugs, failing economy, divorce, murder of innocent babies and a host of aliens taking our country.
America I believe will turn her back on Israel, maybe this next election. The Bush administration has pursued an ill favored doctrine of appeasement, i.e.. “land for peace”. with the road map for peace. Higher and higher oil prices may force America to retreat or just outright betray Israel. If that happens we are in serious trouble! God will finish us as a nation.

Remember our adversary uses the same devices over and over with remarkable effectiveness. Because we are slack and have forsaken the true and living God for our bank books and raunchy entertainment. God help us all come back to Him in awe of His holiness.

The purpose of the conference was to discuss the future of Czechoslovakia in the face of territorial demands made by German dictator Adolf Hitler. The agreement, signed by Nazi Germany, France, Britain, and Italy permitted German annexation of Czechoslovakia‘s Sudetenland. The Sudetenland was of immense strategic importance to Czechoslovakia, as most of its border defenses were situated there.
Arthur Neville Chamberlain (18 March 1869 – 9 November 1940) was a British Conservative politician and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1937 to 1940.
Chamberlain’s legacy is marked by his so-called “appeasement” policy regarding the interaction with Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany with his signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding part of Czechoslovakia to Hitler.

Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you …”.
Later that day he stood outside Number 10 Downing Street and again read from the document and concluded:
‘”My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honor. I believe it is peace for our time.”
Chamberlain believed passionately in peace for many reasons (most of which are discussed in the article Appeasement), thinking it his job as Britain’s leader to maintain stability in Europe; like many people in Britain and elsewhere, he thought that the best way to deal with Germany’s belligerence was to treat it with kindness and meet its demands. He also believed that the leaders of men are essentially rational beings, and that Hitler must necessarily be rational as well.
