It was when I was. At a local Homeschooling conference, my wife and I split up to listen to different topics for our kids’ circular. Ken Ham, who I never heard of around 1990, spoke on a book he had released called “The Lie.” I listened politely as he shredded many of the foundations of Evolution that I had learned in my public education. I had been saved about 5 years ago and was unaware of the debate on origins and Evolution. Having loved Science as a young student who wanted to study Marine Biology at Woods Hole, I was blown away.
Today, I understand the linchpin of the need for secular thinking to explain our origins without God. Simply put, they don’t want any accountability from a Creator God! That’s it, and never underestimate our fallen nature that desperately seeks to justify its sins before a Holy God. Below is a article I did a long time ago. Adherents to both the biblical creation/corruption/flood framework and the particles-to-people evolution framework teach that organisms change over time, and that mutations and natural selection play a significant role in this. But evolutionists assume that the changes eventually increase the information content, so that a single living cell (which they claim arose from non-living chemicals) was the ancestor of all other life.
Creationists believe that separate kinds were created, and that changes generally either remove information or leave the total information content unchanged. The examples of ‘evolution in action’ presented by Teaching about Evolution do not demonstrate the information increase required by evolution. Ye shall be as gods… I’ll say it again. It is the oldest lie and the original lie, that man is divine and that we just need to know that we are divine. At the heart of all New Age doctrine, though there be wide varieties and flavors of the month, it is that we need to know that we are divine. This hoax is usually sold to the masses in a myriad of books, by the Dalai Lama, Masters, Gurus, Oprah, and always needs to be purchased. It is sold as hidden wisdom. This hidden wisdom has enough truth to bait the unsuspecting customer into a snare through coveting, which is idolatry. That also is a lie. One form is Gnosticism, which is hidden knowledge.
