Liberal Christianity essentially wants to pick and choose which parts of the Bible are from God. They want to accept “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows…” (James 1:27) and reject “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). I can’t live my life like that.
If God did not bother to give me a reliable instruction manual, why should I bother following any of His instructions? If God’s Word is not infallible and trustworthy, why should I care what it says? That is where liberal Christianity goes wrong. Liberal Christianity destroys the very foundation of Christianity — the Word of God. Liberal Christianity essentially tells us to follow a book (or at least certain parts of a book) that they themselves do not believe in. – S. Michael Houdmann

TO think that this message is from 1987 and all the baby-boomer future leaders have been given a liberal education and now can bring their 1970’s bi-sexual ‘tent sex’ into the rectory. Are we suprised that the new generation is different from the grayheads? The swing from legalist-life-sufsfacating- religion to free-swinging liberalism shows me that they never knew the 24/7 rest of Christ. . .religion ruled; Christ searched for people of faith while weeping. Will we soon stop looking at the problems of the ‘world’ and embrace our freedom in the loving Christ who stands with open arms calling us to Him? that

The point of the process of Liberal Theology moving into ONCE good churches is a sure process of Denominational death with the first step being a corruption of the view of scripture. Once Bibliology (doctrine of the bible) goes south the view of Christ (Christology) and the rest leads to apostasy. They are…. as listed in 2 Timothy 3:1-9 religious, but corrupt concerning the faith.
“Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth…”
Today they creep into denominations instead of houses. Just had someone last week trying to defend Rob Bell and he scolded me for clinging to my belief in the bible, but he wants to be called a Christian. The process is always the same. Satan’s first weapon was doubt and it continues today.
