Many will say, I AM

The (He) is not in the original text. What Jesus said is when people come in My Name (I AM)… The time has drawn near! This is a great marker along the highway to God’s ultimate fulfillment of setting up His Kingdom as He discussed here in Luke 21:7 as signs to look for.

We will look in this article at a few references of very public people who claim the “I AM”, which is Gods’ name forever as given to Moses. Let’s see how this is creeping in Everywhere and the Christ Conscience within that allows the New Ager to think (wrongfully) to tap the god within to create by these methods has it’s Christian counterfeit.

No, it’s a lie that so many want to believe. It is a spiritual scam!

Notice that at 1:38 of this clip that the secret is like having a genie! I can’t believe people actually bought this. The bible says that we war against the world, the flesh and the devil.

A very important clue was given to the evolution agenda via a New Ager by the name of Alice Bailey wrote, that the revolt of the angels against God was part of “the divine plan of evolution,” for by it the fallen angels “descended from their sinless and free state of existence in order to develop full divine awareness on earth,” [Alice Bailey, The Externalization of the Hierarchy (New York: Lucis Publishing Company, 1957), p. 118]Evolution of The CONscience | Amos 3:7

Now let’s look at the most popular pastor in America. Joel Osteen. Here are some excerpts from his wildly successful book “Your Best Life Now”. I have used this article below to highlight the Visualization techniques which is as we have shown above is NOT Christian, but New Age. It is not for me to say whether Joel is purposely deceiving people or is just deceived himself. I think the later. My prayer is that he would turn (repent) from this New Age methodology of the catering to the flesh’s desire for NOW, and lay up treasures in heaven. The bible is replete with warnings of deception Matthew 24 mentions four times about powerful deception. These deceptions are not warnings to those outside the faith but to those inside the church. Tell me is it not a seduction to say we can have it all now.

The Bible Warns of Seducing Spirits & Doctrines of Devils

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” 1 Timothy 4:1

Seduction happens to those who are in the flesh. So when the Apostle Paul tells Timothy to, “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (vs.16)

Doctrine, it’s a dirty word today in our Churches, like it is not relevant to today’s millennial generation. No, my friends, it is the tool by which we discern false doctrine. Comparing Gods word to man’s word.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15

“For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

The New Age Dream of Using The Church for Deception

I ask you if we have so much more warning from the ancient prophets, the apostles, and the Lord Jesus Himself. Where are they? Do not overlook the pulpits. Satan has always used religion to steal well-meaning people. Alice Bailey dreamed of this day of using the Church, they called it “The Plan”. He knows that we want to worship and he wants to steal that for himself (Isaiah 14). Now the closer people who get to the truth of the glorious gospel, Satan the great deceiver makes many counterfeits to draw more people away. Truth is the Gods people love,

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits…(Isaiah 30:10) and (Jeremiah 5:31) The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power, And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?

Why because we are no match for the world, the flesh, and the devil. However, we have great good news! We don’t have to fight fair, that’s right. We can bring out the secret weapon of our prayer to which the enemy constantly tries to busy us to keep us from picking up the unlimited power that God has. Not our own. If God be for us, who can be against us. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers in dark places that promote visualization and contact with real seducing spirits that tell us what we want to hear. The answer is prayer and a heart yielded to God alone who is wise.

Now let’s look at this ungodly yet powerfully seductive new age methodology that has gripped so many of Gods people. Knowledge is key. It is a ready defense for spotting a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me…(Hosea 4:6)

And know we will demonstrate at the end of this article is that Joel’s gospel is in conflict with the purpose of our Lord Jesus Christ. See below.

There are three basic steps to “your best life now.”

The initial step in Osteen’s program is visualization: “The first step to living at your full potential is to enlarge your vision. To live your best life now, you must start looking at life through eyes of faith, seeing yourself rising to new levels. See your business taking off. See your marriage restored. See your family prospering. See your dreams coming to pass. You must conceive it and believe it is possible if you ever hope to experience it” (p. 4, emphasis his). See Joel Osteen New Age Origins

The reason why visualization is necessary is because it has the power to bring about what you envision. “You will produce what you’re continually seeing in your mind… If you develop an image of victory, success, health, abundance, joy, peace, and happiness, nothing on earth will be able to hold those things from you… Start anticipating promotions and supernatural increase. You must conceive it in your heart and mind before you can receive it… You must make room for increase in your own thinking, and then God will bring those things to pass” (pp. 5-6).

Apparently even God is at the mercy of that which we visualize; after all, “Thoughts [not God] determine destiny” (p. 101). “If you don’t think your body can be healed, it never will be… When you think positive, excellent thoughts, you will be propelled toward greatness, inevitably bound for increase, promotion, and God’s supernatural blessings” (p. 104).

Faith or The Law of Attraction

It is not enough to think about and visualize what we want, we must also express faith. “God works by faith. You must believe first, and then you’ll receive” (p. 33). “We receive what we believe. Unfortunately, this principle works as strongly in the negative as it does in the positive” (p. 72). “Understand this: God will help you, but you cast the deciding vote… [we must] get into agreement with God” (p. 74). “It’s our faith that activates the power of God” (p. 306).

It is vital that we visualize what we want and to expect (“express faith”) because our faith attracts what we visualize. While Osteen never calls this the “law of attraction” notice its similarity to the same concept as taught by New Age teachers such as Eckhart Tolle, Rhonda Byrne, and others. “Your life will follow your expectations. What you expect is what you will get” (p. 13). “Our thoughts contain tremendous power. Remember, we draw into our lives that which we constantly think about. If we’re always dwelling on the negative, we will attract negative people, experiences, and attitudes. If we’re always dwelling on our fears, we will draw in more fear. You are setting the direction of your life with your thoughts” (p. 109).

Words and Word of Faith New Age Connections

Still, it is not enough to think good thoughts and express faith in them; it is necessary to speak your desires out loud. This is why the prosperity gospel is often called the “Word of Faith” movement – for power lies in the spoken word. Follow Osteen’s thinking. “Our words have tremendous power, and whether we want to or not, we will give life to what we’re saying, either good or bad… Words are similar to seeds, by speaking them aloud, they are planted in our subconscious minds, and they take on a life of their own” (p. 122). Osteen suggests, “Get up each morning and look in the mirror and say, ‘I am valuable. I am loved. God has a great plan

for my life. I have favor wherever I go. God’s blessings are chasing me down and overtaking me. Everything I touch prospers and succeeds. I’m excited about my future!’ Start speaking those kinds of words, and before long, you will rise to a new level of well-being, success, and victory. There truly is power in your words” (p. 123).

But there is more. We must also speak to our problems, “Whatever your mountain is, you must do more than think about it, more than pray about it; you must speak to that obstacle… Start calling yourself healed, happy, whole, blessed, and prosperous. Stop talking to God about how big your mountains are, and start talking to your mountains about how big your God is” (p. 124). Osteen can confidently promise us, “Friend, there is a miracle in your mouth” (p. 125). How so? “The moment you speak something out, you give birth to it. This is a spiritual principle, and it works whether what you are saying is good or bad, positive or negative” (p. 129). Therefore, “You must start boldly confessing God’s Word, using your words to move forward in life, to bring to life the great things God has in store for you” (p. 130).

And it is totally up to us to pull this kind of life off. “God has already done everything He’s going to do. The ball is now in your court. If you want success, if you want wisdom, if you want to be prosperous and healthy, you’re going to have to do more than meditate and believe; you must boldly declare words of faith and victory over yourself and your family” (p. 132). Osteen is presenting a pure self-help program and baptizing it in the name of God. Those who fail to reach these promised benefits have only themselves to blame, since they apparently did not follow Osteen’s formula.

Okay, now that we have done some background I am indebted to John MacArthur who said what I knew but had not connected it like this. According to Osteen’s methodology, we can avoid the persecution of those who wish to live godly in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:12

Consider the above statements of living our best life now. It does have some merit. If you follow Joel and the New Age philosophy you will not be saved and you will be lost to an eternal hell because you have followed a false gospel. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1:7. The enemy has woven a web of lies that covers coveting in Christian language and offers you your best life now. If that is true, then why would anyone want to leave this place to be with God in heaven. What MacArthur and others see is that Joel offers his huge congregation and the millions who watch on TV is what the devil offered Jesus after the temptation!

I leave you with these scriptures. Let the word of God guide you and teach you. Be at peace and trust His Holy word for everything.

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4:3-10

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17

Now, what are you going to do? Follow the minister of Satan who offers the pride of life in our best life now or the will of God that is able to save your soul. In conclusion, we need to risk offending those around us who are buying into this New Age Seduction that uses imagery, visualization, and half-truths to ensnare people in their carnal desires. Repent and turn to God and He will cleanse you of this and you can look forward to living our best life in the next one with Christ and His Kingdom that we are to pray for. Thy kingdom come! That is not in the now as Tolles and Osteen promote.
