Chapter 7 After The Vanishing

These kingmakers believe that they are the masters of this world, moving us toward their beloved “New World Order.” Yet these self-anointed monarchs are actually inspired by God’s archenemy, Satan, who is influencing, and where necessary, controlling these “wise men.” Thus, the wise men are not only duped for Satan, the entire plan (call it a conspiracy) fits right into the ultimate plan and purpose of God. Interesting.

Modern Day

Geo-political alliances.

For the serious disciple of Jesus Christ, those who took the entirety of Matthew 24 to heart, the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s were awesome and amazing times. We were watching the sovereign plan of God unfold before our very eyes. The “Kings of the earth” were plotting their “New World Order”, yet the Lord God had already pre-ordained exactly what would happen. For those who had eyes to see and ears to hear the signs of the times were obvious.

Beginning in 1948, with the birth of modern day Israel, prophesy students watched as each political alliance necessary for God’s end times plan formed. As each alliance and geo-political reality was manifest, truly informed hearts’ were jumping. It’s amazing how God operates;

For the wisdom of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

(1Corinthians 1:18-20,27-30)

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Yet God has made the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things that are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that he may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God.

The irony would be amusing if it weren’t so serious:

God has given man his freedom. By ignoring God and His ways, the world, over time, has evolved in such a way that the masses find themselves ruled from above by a very few “wise men.” Isn’t that the “freedom” the “people” are trying to avoid. Being ruled from above?

While Satan meant it for evil, God meant it for good;

For we know that God causes all things to work together for good, to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

There are a series of alliances among nations that began to take shape in the last half of the 20^th century that, taken together, formed the basis for believing that biblical prophecy was taking place and the end game was near. For without the political alliances and all of the nations taking their place there could have been no expectation that bible prophecy was being fulfilled.

Russia and her allies

The Book of Ezekiel clearly predicts an invasion of Israel from the extreme north. As we will show this can only be modern day Russia. This event will take place 3 ½ years from the time of the rapture and the international peace agreement that guarantees the security of Israel. We will discuss these events in detail later but, for know, let’s briefly outline who these nations are.

Ezekiel 38, beginning in verse 1,

And the word of the Lord came to me saying,

Son of Man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say,

“thus says the Lord God, Behold I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Mesech and Tubal.

Pershia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;

Gomer with all its troops; Bethtogarmah from the remotest parts of the north with all its troops-many peoples with you.

After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into land….whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.

(Ezekiel 38 1-3,5,6,8)

Now let’s identify the participants in this vast alliance, and see if it doesn’t conform to present-day geo-political reality. In verse 2 we see Gog of the land Magog, prince of Rosh. This is clearly the leader of the confederation and also the leader/dictator of Russia. In relation to Israel, his army approaches from the remotest part of the North. Simply peruse any map and travel north from Israel or anywhere for that matter, and you will run into Russia. Further, “he will be a descendent of the ancient tribes of Magog, Meshech, Tubal and a later people named after the combination of this people-Rosh or Rus. These people became known as the Scythians, who are modern day ethnic Russians.” Persia is modern day Iran.

Cush is the son of Ham who is one of the three sons of Noah. Cush is the father of the Black African people. In fact, his name in Hebrew means black. Put is also the son of Ham, he is the father of the North African people who dwell along the southern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Today, they are Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and Mauritania. Gomer refers to Turkey. Beth Togarmah refers to the Muslim dominated regions of the former Soviet Union, such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhastan, etc.⁸

What the bible has predicted is a Russian lead attack in alliance with Islamic and Muslim forces that surround Israel. Remember, Ezekiel, penned these word 600 years before Christ. Russia was never an enemy of Israel at that time. Islam didn’t exist. The “prophet” Mohamed hadn’t even been born. Yet as the 20^th century came to an end, these geo-political realities were developing. They are now right at the door. Get ready.

China and “The Kings of The East

According to the Bible, China will play a major role in the last days’ battles, and they are ready. In Revelation 9:15 John describes a huge army moving towards Israel from the east:

Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

One saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”

And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.

The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. (Revelation 9:13-16)

This can only be modern day China; an army from the east, 200 million strong, with the ability to kill one-third of mankind. In the late 1990’s, China boasted of having 300 million men under arms.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the Kings from the east.

(Revelation 16:12)

China is ready, just as John foretold 2000 years ago. Each piece of the puzzle became more and more clear as we approached what the bible called “The time of many sorrows.” This scripture gave us one more reason to believe.

The most ominous revival of Rome

As we mentioned earlier, in AD 70 the Romans attacked and leveled the city of Jerusalem. Most importantly, the Jewish temple, just as Jesus predicted, was completely destroyed. The Jews were scattered, as the bible also foretold, from one end of the earth to the other.

The significance of this event relates to Daniel’s prophecy regarding Rome, recorded in 530 BC:

After the sixty-two weeks the messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.

(Daniel 9:26)

The Romans are the people of the prince who is to come! This passage predicts the Anti-Christ will come from the people who destroyed Jerusalem and the temple; Rome. In order for these prophecies to be validated, there must be some form of a revival of the old Roman Empire.

There are other scriptures that clearly point to Rome as the power base of the Anti-Christ, that is, the prince or leader described in Daniel 9:26.

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, come here, I will show you the judgement of the great harlot who sits on many waters,

With whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality.

And he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness; and I saw a women sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.

(Revelation 17:1-3)

The 17^th chapter of Revelation is a gold mine of prophecy that we will develop fully later. But for now, we want to identify who the women described above is. John interprets this for us in verse 9:

Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. (Revelation 17:9)

Then verse 18:

The woman whom you saw is the great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.

(Revelation 17:18)

Years ago, this writer attended a bible prophecy conference that dealt with the “city founded on seven hills.” The speaker that day was Rev. Ernie White, who said, “there are 2 cities founded on seven hills, Rome and Worcester, Ma., and I don’t think Worcester is reigning or has reigned over the kings of this earth.”

Rome is the great city which sits on seven hills that rules over the kings of the earth. Revelation 17 goes further in describing the political power Rome will once again yield. In verse 3, John describes the women (Rome) with seven heads (mountains) and ten horns. In verse 12 the ten horns are revealed as the “10 kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings.” This is extremely important.

The kings, the political rulers, are receiving their power or authority from the women (Rome). Revelation 17 is predicting a revival of The Holy Roman Empire; The unholy mixture of church and state.

Just like in times past, the political authority is received from “the women that sits on the seven hills.”

Don’t miss this: the political, temporal power is legitimized by religious authority or power; An attempted coercion that is of the utmost an affront to almighty God.

Now, the bible doesn’t come out and say The Roman Catholic Church is the woman that sits on the seven hills. We don’t have to make presumptions that are not supported by scripture. Our best opinions can and sometimes are demolished by the omnipotence and omniscience of almighty God. We don’t have to read into the bible what isn’t there. We’ll let God do the revealing. However, If The Roman Catholic Church is not the women that sits on those seven hills she’s about to get knocked off that mountain real soon!

Any cursory reading of medieval history will find the deadly mixture of religion and politics. Remember, it was Constantine who “Christianized” the Roman Empire in 312 AD, making Christianity the “official” religion of the empire. This had the effect of “converting” all those who wished to thrive politically and socially. Just as before, you were still required to pledge allegiance to Caesar, only now, the religion was not paganism, but “Christianity”. Constantine even kept his religious title, Pontifix Maximus; The Supreme Pontiff.

During that period of time referred to as “The Dark Ages,” the kings of Europe and all in authority trembled at the thought of crossing Rome. Excommunication from the Roman Church meant death. Rome used religious authority to compel political allegiance. This is the antithesis of true freedom we discussed earlier and is an affront to the one true God, who gave us our freedom.

What is significant for us, is that the bible predicts a revival of the religious/political dynamic that characterized the earlier Holy Roman Empire.

The European Union

We have shown that in the latter days anti-Christ will lead a revived Roman Empire from its traditional center of Rome. We have not yet tied this future event to current developments in Europe. Did prophecy students have reason to believe a revived Roman Empire was possible, circa 2000 AD? And what of the centuries old political divisions of Europe? Wouldn’t those divisions serve as a buffer to any potential takeover of Europe by “the prince who is to come”? Yet again, like a Shakespearean play, the actors came on the scene, and the drama continued.

On March 25, 1957, a major drumbeat sounded for the New World Order. On that date, six European countries; Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Italy and the Netherlands signed the aptly titled “treaty of Rome.” Their goal: nothing less than a United States of Europe; no national borders, a single currency, A European Parliament, judicial system, a common market for commodities and a common defense and foreign policy. From 1957 onward, Europe has slowly yet inexorably evolved into a global superpower, now encompassing 17 formerly independent European countries.

The timing could not be more perfect for a prince to emerge as its leader. In fact he may already be on the stage.

Summary

God is a promise keeper. He made a promise to Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and that through his seed the Messiah would come. Satan is still working to try and thwart this plan of God, but he knows his time is short. How comforting it is to put your faith and trust in a God full of love, and one who keeps his promises. Bible prophecy is so wonderful because it gives us confidence in the Lord as we see his plan unfold. Also, they are awe inspiring, because these predictions, 100% accurate, are completely beyond human understanding. Bible prophecy, properly understood, leads us inevitably to faith in God and his son, Jesus Christ. God hasn’t asked us to check our “brains at the door” and blindly follow in order to exercise “faith.” There is a certainty to faith that is supernatural. God is asking us to trust in the certainty of His will and His plan as expressed in the holy bible, His Word. And so,

“faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

(Hebrews 11:1)

Paul, in his letter to the Romans, writes concerning Abraham:

Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waiver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,

And being fully assured that what God had promised He was able to perform.

(Romans 2: 20,21)

With respect to modern day geopolitical alliances God didn’t leave much to chance, did He? Everything was coming together just as He had planned and predicted. With all the nations in place, we knew the “blessed hope” of being taken alive with Christ was coming soon.

In the early 21^st century we find: Russia, strongly militaristic and yet, an economic basket case. The Muslim and Islamic countries itching for a chance to finally drive Israel into the Mediterranean. The Chinese, ready and willing to take advantage of the geo-political turmoil. And don’t forget John’s prediction of a 200 million man army at a time (AD 95) when there were not even close to 200 million men on the face of the earth. Europe, as if on cue, devises a plan to unite, just in time for a coming prince? Is this coincidence? Ponder for a moment the enormity of what has taken place with the sudden disappearance of millions of people from the face of the earth, the great lies that are being told regarding this event and the likelihood of these geopolitical realities existing at this moment in history! Then add to your equation the necessity of computers and nuclear weapons to be in existence at just this time! It couldn’t have happened at any time previously! The likeliness of this is simply beyond human comprehension. Consider further: what would happen if the European countries continued to act toward one another as they have for centuries? They would be fighting each other, not uniting into the European Union. That being the case, who would “the prince” rule over?

Consider Russia; what would happen if the Russian people turned out to be a democratic, peace loving people? Or China, how did John know that the “kings of east” would be able to yield an army of 200 million, and be a regime willing to use it?

No, it’s not reasonable to believe this is coincidence. Is there no answer except that the God of the bible, for His own good reason and purpose, is fulfilling His promises?> He has Gloriously chosen to reveal everything to us in advance.

As you sit here and consider all of what is been revealed so far, we invite you to simply bow your head and Praise the Lord of the all!

Oh God thank you for coming to this earth and intervening in our sinful and destructive behavior and sending Jesus to die in our place, the one and only sacrifice for our sins, oh, we could never say thank you enough for how you’ve worked in our lives life, we simply praise you, weak and sinful as we are, waiting with blessed assurance, for your return. Open my heart now in the remaining pages. Reveal Yourself to me. In Jesus Name. Amen!
